Class Structure

Monkstown Park Junior School is proud to offer a full education package, beginning in Manorbrook Montessori, an on-campus pre-school - which is independently run by Ms. Lisa Kenna, who states:

Manorbrook Montessori"Manorbrook Montessori will ensure to provide a happy, secure and educational environment for each child. Each individual will be given the opportunity to learn at their own pace and be respected and recognised for their own special uniqueness. We aim to provide a two-year Montessori programme so that the children who stay for a second year continue to thrive in our specially prepared environment.

In addition to the Montessori Pre-School Curriculum the children will have lots of opportunities to play, make new friends and engage in a variety of activities such as:

Arts and Crafts, Speech & Drama, Song & Dance, Irish and French through music, Sensorial Workshops, Fitness Classes with a Sports Coach and LOTS more!

Our timetable of additional activities is alternated every term so as to include as much variety as possible.

Manorbrook Montessori runs from 9am-12 noon daily with an additional hour available. Enrolment is open to BOTH boys and girls aged from 2 1/2 years upwards.

Every child who enters into Manorbrook will be treated as an individual and our hope is to bring out all their best strengths in a relaxed and fun atmosphere."

Boys can then continue their education journey in Monkstown Park Junior School.

Monkstown Park Junior School caters for pupils from Junior Infants to Sixth Class. Each child is individually known to the Principal and staff and is educated in a warm, caring and happy atmosphere. Our pupils learn, grow and work together in an environment of co-operation and mutual respect.

Small class numbers ensure that each child gets plenty of one to one attention and their individual talents can be nurtured. Our extensive grounds provide an ideal backdrop for sporting ambitions and outdoor activities.

Our boys leave Monkstown Park Junior School well ready for life in CBC Monkstown Park Senior School, continuing their education with the solid friends they have made during their time in the Junior School. All boys from the Junior School are automatically eligible for a place in the Senior School.

Junior Infants and Senior Infants - Ms. Lindsey Heppenstall

Hi, my name is Lindsey Heppenstall. I have been teaching in Monkstown Park Junior School since 2006.

I am originally from Wakefield Yorkshire on the eastern edge of the Pennines. I love travelling and I've been have been lucky enough to have had the opportunity to travel around the world. I also lived in Germany for six years and the United States for one year. I've been living in Ireland for the past fifteen years and enjoy living here.

I'm an active person and really enjoy most sports especially hiking, cycling and running.

I have done two marathons and I am training for this year's Dublin Marathon and I hope to do a few more triathlons in near future......and when I'm not running I also enjoy teaching adults who are training in childcare.

I was involved in getting the Green Flag for "Litter and Waste" for our school last year and hope to add an "Energy Flag" this year and an "Active Flag", promoting health and fitness within our school.

My name is Alizia Gisler and I have been working in Monkstown Park for 13 years.

I am originally from Switzerland where I grew up in a small village at the foot of the Alps in Lucerne.

In my spare time I love hanging out with my partner and our little son. I am very creative and enjoy photography, making my own greeting cards and interior design. I have always loved travelling and enjoy learning about new countries and their cultures. Languages is another interest of mind and I enjoy teaching the boys German which I speak fluently due to my Swiss background.

Reading fictional books is another favourite pastime, where I can unwind with a hot cuppa and a chocolate biscuit.

Sixth Class - Ms. Ailish Brennan

I'm Ailish Brennan and I'm the 6th class teacher in Monkstown Park. This is my second year teaching in Monkstown. I am committed to my job here and I strive to create a fun, interactive, energetic and co-operative environment for the boys to work and learn in.

In my spare time I enjoy many sports. As I'm originally from Kilkenny I have hurling in my blood and I'm a keen camogie player. However athletics is my main passion, which I hope to share with the boys.

I consider myself very lucky to have the privilege of working with such wonderful boys  and staff and I look forward to your support in the adventures that lie ahead this academic year.

Gamesmaster - Mr. Stephen Flood

My name is Stephen Flood. I am the keep fit teacher in the school. I attended CBC Monkstown from the age of 4 until the age of 18. I like to keep fit by going to the gym or going for a run, and I also like to hang out with my friends.

I thoroughly enjoy working with children and teaching them all the necessary sports needed for them to progress accordingly. I really enjoy my job and show a keen interest in learning about new sports myself so I can pass the knowledge onto the students.

On weekends I enjoy going out for meals with my girlfriend, then relaxing with a nice movie and let the preparation begin for the week ahead!
