Ms Heppenstall held a question and answer session about road safety in assembly this week. She then gave out hi vis jackets and bag covers to the boys. These were kindly modeled by Junior and Senior Infants.

The boys of Monkstown Park got into the spirit of celebrating Roald Dahl's birthday in library today.

Well done to everyone in Monkstown Park Junior School, from Junior Infants to 6th Class,from teachers to parents, who took part in the National Spring Clean 2016.It was a very successful Spring Clean  . This year we collected 20 bags from around Monkstown. We put the high volume down to the strong winds we've been having lately.Many thanks to Ms. Heppenstall for organising the event.

Proclamation Day 15th March was marked by the school with a lovely ceremony. The tricolour was raised.The boys read the original proclamation followed by their own proclamation for a new generation. Ms Heppenstall's Junior  Infant class then buried a time capsule containing drawings, lego and match attacks among other things!! We closed with the national anthem..

Author Brian Gallagher visited the school for World Book Day and spoke to the boys about how he structures his day writing books and his work. It was extremely interesting and the boys enjoyed hearing both about the process of writing and about the books Brian wrote. Thank you to Helen from Dubray Dun Laoghaire for her assistance.

Fourth, Fifth and Sixth class boys travelled to Cork to play our sister college CBC Cork in a return set of rugby matches.The boys enjoyed a great sporting day. Many thanks to CBC Cork for their welcome and for providing refreshments for the lads.Thank you also to Mark and Dominic for looking after the boys and for coaching them during the year.
