Happy Chinese New Year from Senior Infants!
Senior infants really enjoyed learning about Chinese New Year! Daniel helped to teach us all about the different traditions and to make Chinese lanterns. We tried noodles, fortune cookies and yummy dumplings (A big thank you to Daniel’s Mum!)
We learnt all about the chinese zodiac race. This year is the year of the Tiger. We learnt that most of the class are goats, and we have two monkeys!
During Aistear, in the role play area, the children went to a Chinese restaurant. There were lots of yummy foods to try! Daniel also taught us the numbers from 1-10 in Chinese. We practised writing them in the coloured rice.
Senior infants really enjoyed all the celebrations and now we have been working on a Winter Olympics challenge. The whole school is racing to make it to Beijing first. This competition is encouraging daily exercise and teamwork. We were even lucky enough to have a zoom interview with 2 of the Irish Olympians.
