Celebrating Tree Day: Students Plant Hazel Trees
On Tree Day, October 5th, our students embraced the spirit of environmental stewardship by planting hazel trees on school grounds. This activity followed an enlightening webinar hosted by Green Schools and LEAF Ireland, which educated participants on the hazel tree's ecological importance, and its role in myths and legends, and even included a hazelnut biscuit recipe.
The planting event was not only a practical application of the webinar's teachings but also a step towards greening our school and instilling a sense of ecological responsibility in our students. Each student's participation in planting a hazel tree symbolizes a commitment to environmental care, promising a greener future.
This initiative highlights the value of hands-on environmental education, fostering a connection between students and the natural world. As these trees grow, they'll serve as a constant reminder of our students' role in environmental conservation. We're proud of their efforts and excited to see the positive impact of this Tree Day celebration for years to come.
