A Bright Start to 2020

3rd and 4th class return with a bang
A Bright Start to 2020

It was all smiley faces as the class returned to take on 2020 with great vigour. In the first week, the class wrote up their New Year's resolutions with some wanting to get fit, improve their Irish and get better marks in the Friday tests to name but a few. They have shown great interest in the new maths topics of Length and Multiplication 2, with everyone seeming able for the new challenges.

In our first week back we explored the work of Henri Matisse towards the end of his career when he focused mainly on cut out collages. The class seemed to enjoy this form of composition and produced some creative interpretations of their own. We have also started to work on landscaped with students taking inspiration from famous places around the world and Ireland.

We also said goodbye for now to Mr King who has gone to Kenya to do some charity work in a school there. We contributed to a school scrapbook that will be presented to pupils there upon arrival. We are can't wait for his return to hear how he got on.
