There was an air of excitement in First Class towards the end of our second term at school. Easter and the holidays were coming soon.
Charlie was moving to Portugal, so the boys and girls had to give him a good send off.
We played football with third and fourth class. With Mr.Fayne our class planted some flowers for the bees on the banks of the field. We had a party in our classroom, and danced the Macarena. Luke performed some magic tricks.
On the last day of term, all pupils at Monkstown Park Junior School had to make and wear an Easter bonnet. We all headed straight to the school hall to sit back, relax and listen to the music concert. Congratulations to Robert and Ranav who played their music pieces beautifully. They couldn’t have done so well without the guidance of our two great music teachers, Heather and Martin.
After the music concert we headed straight back to the classroom and Helena and Freya from the parents committee visited. They held an Easter Egg raffle and gave everyone in the class an Easter goodie bag and a booklet about the Easter Story.
After a busy morning, First Class headed downstairs to the front door, where they relaxed and had a chat over a nice warm cup of hot chocolate. Thank you, Mr. Flood, for organizing.
After the Easter holidays First Class came back to school refreshed and ready for another great term of learning. We celebrated Luke’s 7th birthday last Wednesday and at going home time he gave everyone in the class a party bag.
Most of our first week back after Easter was dedicated to preparing for our play ‘In The Court Of King Pollution’.
Last Friday, on a beautiful sunny morning, all parents of the school were invited to view each classes’ outdoor Speech and Drama performance. It was lovely to see the parents back on campus after being away for so long due to the pandemic.
First Class deserved the big round of applause (and an Easter egg) which they received after their fantastic performance of their play. Well done everyone.
