Autumn In First Class…
First Class have been busy, working hard each day. Over the past few weeks the weather has been beautiful, so every afternoon the children have been able to take a well-deserved ‘brain break’ and go for a run around the field. While outside in the fresh air, they have also been practicing their song and dance moves for the Halloween Parade, which takes place next week.
The children in First Class have been earning house team points for their amazing artwork. They did this by entering the 'Pointillism Art Competition'. The boys and girls had to paint a pointillist ‘Autumn Tree’ picture. They also learned about the artist, Georges Seurat, who was famous for his pointillist paintings. Congratulations to the winners of the competition - Ranav, Michael and Aidan.
With autumn in the air, the girls and boys enjoyed a walk around the school grounds in search of leaves of different shapes and colours. They took them back to the classroom to make some amazing leaf collages.
This week, First Class also entered the design a Halloween Door Competition. Well done to the winners Robert, Sadhbh and Victoria. They all receive points for their house team. Robert gets to display his design on the classroom door as a reward for his first-place finish.
During October, we have celebrated four birthdays. Congratulations to Jamie, Sadhbh, Matthew and Alan. They all turned seven years of age recently. Thank you to their parents for kindly sending in delicious cupcakes for everyone in the audience (class!).
