First Class Are Back To School Once Again

Happy To Be Back In School

Last Monday, there was an air of excitement in the classroom as the First Class boys returned to school after a period of online learning.

On the first day we decided to take things slowly, but the boys were keen to get back into top gear. By Tuesday it was as if we had never been away.

Now that spring has arrived and the weather is milder, we take some of our lessons in the great outdoors. This week is Engineers week - a great opportunity to head over to the school forest to engage in outdoor engineering challenges. One day the boys had to construct a twig tower. They then had to balance a small stone on top of the tower. Ms Farrell was delighted with the engineering results.

To add to the excitement of the week, on Thursday we celebrated World Book Day. The First Class boys each dressed up as a character from a book. That was a lot of fun. During the day, the boys designed a book cover, and enjoyed thinking of a person that they like to share a book with. It was also fun listening to the story of Roald Dahl’s ‘James and the Giant Peach and ‘Revolting Rhymes’.

We thought we would never get back to school, but now that we are back in action, it feels like we have never been away. That’s Monkstown Park Junior School for you!
