Where did November go?

What a fantastic month!
Where did November go?

November was a busy one!!! It was one of the fastest months that I can remember. I think it flew so much because we were so busy in 2nd class. We kicked November off with our Science Week preparation. The theme this year was ‘Infinite Possibilities’ and we went on to learn about our solar system and all of the wonderful features it holds. We created aliens and completed amazing bottle rockets to explore space. We then went into the infinite possibilities of mixing particular ingredients and how they react with each other. We created lava lamps by mixing oil, water, food colouring and an effervescent tablet. This chemical reaction was fantastic and the boys and girls in MPJS enjoyed these amazing hands on activity. We really brought the learning to life. We also looked at the amazing power of magnets and how the poles react differently to each other. The 2nd class boys and girls went out to explore the school’s magnetic characteristics and found lots of things that attracted the magnets. This was a great lesson. Somehow, we managed to squeeze in Gaeilge 24, and we had a visit from T-Rex Ó Saurús who did an amazing dance with us tríd Gaeilge. We also had a cross class game of “Goid an bagún and completed yoga lessons, HIIT session and games as Gaeilge. It really was a great day. I can’t believe I’m saying this but preparation for Christmas has now begun. We are practicing our Christmas songs and carols for our performance on December 14th. The Christmas art is also flying out the door. Keep an eye on our social media for all the updates. This school is such a happy place!! I know December is going to fly!!
