Welcome to Monkstown Park. I hope you enjoy browsing through our website and seeing all we have to offer in our wonderful school. I am honoured to be the Principal and committed to ensuring the best educational journey for all pupils in our school. We are proud to keep our Pupil-Teacher ratios under the National Average so all our pupils get enough one-to-one time with their teacher to provide the highest standard of education.

Monkstown Park is a fee-paying, independent, co-educational Primary School situated in the heart of Monkstown, South County Dublin. We are located close to Monkstown village and set within a beautifully enriched and vibrant school campus with acres of green space. Our School caters for Boys and Girls from Junior Infants to 6th Class. We are a member of the Association of Independent Junior Schools (AIJS) and we maintain a strong link with other AIJS schools in Dublin. We regularly participate in events organised by the AIJS throughout the year.

Every child that enters through our doors is given the opportunity to grow and develop in a happy, nurturing and supportive environment, that is enhanced with an abundance of learning experiences. Whilst our fundamental focus is on quality education following the National School Guidelines as set out by the Department of Education and Skills, our core values are centred on developing each pupil as a well-rounded individual. At Monkstown Park, we understand that every pupil is an individual and we ensure that every pupil has the opportunity to thrive in the area they are most interested in.

As mentioned above, we are extremely lucky to be situated on such a large school campus with access to lots of outdoor space including Rugby pitches and Astro turf areas. These are used daily by the pupils to explore the natural outdoor learning environment and be close to nature. Physical activity is vital for each pupil's development and lays the foundation for a healthy and active life. We are proud to say that Monkstown Park is an 'Active School'. There is huge emphasis on physical activity and health promotion. We start off our school day with a Morning Run around our rugby pitches and through our wonderful forest. Teachers, pupils and parents partake in this daily event. It has really proven to be the best way to start our school day. We have also seen an increase in attention and memory span amongst our pupils and encourages us all to start the day on a very positive note which in turn, helps facilitate learning in the classroom.

Each pupil within our school is assigned to one of our four long established house teams, this has been a long standing tradition in our school. There are many events throughout the school year that encourage teamwork in areas such as art competitions, talent spots, orator competitions and many more. This is a great way to strengthen the whole school community and encourage healthy competition in a fun, safe and engaging environment. The teams compete throughout the year in a wide range of competitions to win our coveted House Shield. The winning team's name is engraved on the shield and will be a part of the history of Monkstown Park.

Monkstown Park naturally fosters a vibrant and solid school community that works collaboratively with pupils, teachers and parents alike. I would encourage you to arrange a visit to see our school in action, meet with me and the rest of our dedicated teaching team and experience first-hand what our unique school has to offer. You can 'Book a Tour' at the bottom of the website or email info@mpjs.ie to arrange a visit.

I look forward to personally welcoming you to our school soon.
