All members of the ASF committee take turns serving as playground leaders, guiding the younger students in learning new games, dances, and participating in Dare to Believe exercise challenges. They assist in tidying up play equipment and carrying heavy bags, instilling a sense of responsibility in the students by addressing issues like misplaced footballs or tennis balls. Additionally, they play a crucial role in organising events such as walks to the swimming pool, Halloween parades, and the Santa Dash.
The Active School Flag program greatly benefits from a key partnership with the school's students, particularly through the efforts of our Active School Committee. This committee plays a vital role in fostering active lifestyles within our school community. Composed of students and teacher representatives, the committee meets regularly to set priorities, brainstorm suggestions, address challenges, and devise innovative ideas. Each member of the committee is responsible for communicating with specific classes, ensuring that all students have a voice in the process. This approach makes the Active School Flag program truly inclusive. Additionally, committee members actively remind teachers to incorporate movement breaks throughout the day, further supporting our school’s commitment to active living.
