Jim Murray- Parent of William in 1st Class.
Our son started with Monkstown Park Junior School at junior infants and the fact that the school provides such a warm, supportive and friendly environment, he took to the school like a duck to water.
The school meets and surpasses many criteria that are important to us – the quality of the teaching is excellent; the culture is down to earth; there is a spiritual ethos; there is a focus on activity; there is a range of extracurricular activities; there is a great after school service; and the school itself in terms of scale and class size allows for a greater degree of teacher / student interaction (we did not want to send our son to a school where he might be lost in the crowd).
We don’t believe our son would have grown to the same extent in terms of personality and character in any of the other schools we had originally considered.
Padraig Clyne – Parent of Calum in 3rd Class.
My son Calum is a 4th Class pupil of Monkstown Park Junior School. Calum was a part of another school which he was not settled in, so he then moved to Monkstown Park Junior School a few years ago. On arrival, I could see he was much happier and it did not take any time for him to feel part of his class thanks to the other pupils and more importantly his then teacher. Calum is now part of the rugby school team which he loves and has been playing tennis and also swimming class too. He loves sport. There are many extra activities that he can engage with and guitar lessons was something Calum has taken up in the school. I have seen Calum going from strength to strength academically with big improvements in his spellings and Irish. I'm also impressed with how well he has doing with his English writing. I feel he is excelling in all areas of his schooling.
Siobhan and Ben – Parents of Sadbh in Junior Infants
Our daughter just loves going into school. In the short time since starting junior infants she has thrived in the active, open, warm learning environment, created by the wonderful teachers and range of activities in the school. We particularly value the morning run, which the whole school does together and the nice atmosphere of respect between the girls, boys, teachers and all staff."
